What am I supposed to do with it? I obviousl can't boil it in a pot. Should I put it in a large pan with water in the oven? Cut it in half and cook? Ideas please. I'm lost on this one. | | | | Back to top | 0 | goodheart | Tue, Sep 15 2009, 2:14 pm | don't worry it will shrink is it pickeled or not? | | | | Back to top | 0 | ra_mom | Tue, Sep 15 2009, 2:41 pm | You can slow roast it in the oven for about 24 hours. Warning: it will shrink significantly. | | | | Back to top | 0 | chocolate moose | Tue, Sep 15 2009, 3:24 pm | | Back to top | 0 | merelyme | Tue, Sep 15 2009, 3:27 pm I vote you cut it and cook it on the stovetop. Or borrow an enormous pot and cook it whole. It will need to be cut before you serve it, so why not cut it beforehand? | | | | Back to top | 0 | merelyme | Tue, Sep 15 2009, 3:28 pm | goodheart wrote: | | don't worry it will shrink is it pickeled or not? | if it's corned beef, doesn't that mean that it was pickled? | | | | Back to top | 0 | mommyofnineka | Tue, Sep 15 2009, 4:14 pm | merelyme wrote: | I vote you cut it and cook it on the stovetop. I hope you are having a lot of company. | | | | Back to top | 0 | goodheart | Tue, Sep 15 2009, 4:19 pm | merelyme wrote: | | goodheart wrote: | | don't worry it will shrink is it pickeled or not? | if it's corned beef, doesn't that mean that it was pickled? | nope not always!! | | | | Back to top | 0 | goodheart | Tue, Sep 15 2009, 4:22 pm | ra_mom wrote: | | You can slow roast it in the oven for about 24 hours. So the vote is to defrost a little, cut, and cook? Better than doing in the oven in a roaster? I'm afraid to cook it for 24 hours. What about a sauce? No raisins. | | | | Back to top | 0 | merelyme | Tue, Sep 15 2009, 5:09 pm I just boil it if it's already pickled. You can boil it for a bit, pour off the water, add sauce and water and continue cooking. there are a few recipes here - search for corned beef. | | | | Back to top | 0 | | Page 1 of 1 | | View latest: 24h 48h 72h | | Forum -> Recipe Collection -> Meat | | Related Topics | Replies | Last Post | | | Pickled beef in crockpot | 1 | Sun, Nov 07 2021, 7:05 pm | | | Homemade salt beef | 4 | Thu, Nov 04 2021, 6:21 pm | | | What is the best kosher beef jerky | 10 | Wed, Nov 03 2021, 2:37 am | | | Help me make crockpot beef stew | 2 | Mon, Nov 01 2021, 2:48 pm | | | Crock Pot Beef Stew | 0 | Tue, Oct 19 2021, 11:33 am | | Imamother is a community of frum Jewish women, where you can come to relax, socialize, debate, receive support, ask questions and much more. © 2021 Imamother.com - All rights reserved | |
